Income Tax — T1

01

Personal Tax Return (T1)

From $149

Your annual T1 personal tax return, prepared accurately from your source documents and filed directly with the CRA before the deadline. Military members, veterans, nurses, and first responders qualify for the 15% service appreciation rate.

We handle employment income, savings interest, dividends, and RRSP contributions. You provide the documents; we handle everything else. Still in school? Our Student Tax Guide covers the T2202, and whether to transfer the tuition credit or keep it.

  • Full preparation and CRA e-filing
  • Review of all income sources and slips
  • Claim of all eligible credits and deductions
  • Confirmation of tax liability or refund position
  • Deadline tracking and reminders

Your base fee is set by the most complex element in your return, on a three-step ladder. You don't add the steps together.

$149Essential
Employment and benefit income — T4, T4A, OAS, CPP, EI, T5007 — with RRSP, FHSA, donation, medical, and tuition claims. Unlimited slips.
$249Standard
Everything in Essential, plus slip-reported investment income: T5, T3, and T5008 slips and the capital gains they report.
$399Premium
A return carrying a rental property, self-employment, or a property disposition — sections 02, 03, and 04 below. The base covers the most expensive one of those; anything further is added at the rate shown on its section.

So the fees on the sections below are schedule prices, not totals. Three of them — capital gains, rental, self-employment — put the return at the $399 Premium base, and that base already covers the first one. Foreign income and property is a straight add-on to whichever tier your return lands on. The fee calculator assembles your own combination and shows the total with HST included.

02

Capital Gains (Schedule 3)

+$150–250

Disposition of property, shares, or other capital property requires careful reporting on Schedule 3. We calculate your gain accurately, including the adjusted cost base, capital losses, and available exemptions.

A capital disposition makes this a Premium return: $399, with this schedule covered by that base. The schedule itself is $150, or $250 where a principal residence claim or CCA recapture is involved. Gains that arrive already reported on a T5008 slip are a different case — those sit in the $249 Standard tier.

  • Gain calculation on property and share dispositions
  • Adjusted cost base (ACB) tracking and review
  • Principal residence exemption where applicable
  • Capital loss carryforward and carryback planning
  • Lifetime capital gains exemption (LCGE) for qualifying property

03

Rental & Property Income

+$150

Rental income must be reported on Form T776, including all allowable expenses, mortgage interest deductions, and CCA claims. We ensure your rental schedule is complete, compliant, and optimized within CRA rules. New to it? Our Rental Property Tax Guide covers repairs versus improvements, the CCA recapture trap, and short-term rental rules.

  • T776 rental income schedule preparation
  • Allowable expense review and claims
  • Mortgage interest and financing cost deductions
  • Capital cost allowance (CCA) planning
  • Multiple property portfolios

Rental income makes this a Premium return: $399, with the first property's T776 covered by that base. It is not $149 plus $150. Each additional property after the first is $150.

04

Self-Employment & Sole Proprietor

+$200

If you earn self-employment or freelance income, your net business income must be reported on Form T2125. We prepare your statement of business activities and ensure your CPP contributions are correctly calculated. New to it? Our Self-Employed Tax Guide covers instalments, the HST threshold, and what you can and can't claim.

  • T2125 business income and expense reconciliation
  • Allowable expense review and claims
  • Home office and vehicle expense claims
  • Self-employed CPP contribution calculation
  • HST registration and remittance guidance

Self-employment makes this a Premium return: $399, with the T2125 covered by that base. It is not $149 plus $200. Books that need rebuilding before the T2125 can be prepared are quoted as bookkeeping first, before any return work starts.

05

Foreign Income & Property (T1135)

+$150

Overseas earnings, foreign dividends, and foreign property add complexity. We handle all foreign income reporting on your T1 and apply treaty relief where it reduces your Canadian tax liability.

  • Foreign employment and self-employment income
  • Overseas dividends and interest
  • Double taxation treaty relief claims
  • Foreign Tax Credit (FTC) calculations
  • T1135 Foreign Income Verification Statement

Unlike sections 02 to 04, this one doesn't move your tier. It's $150 on top of whichever tier your other income sets — $299 alongside an otherwise Essential return.

06
