Bookkeeping
Ongoing monthly bookkeeping to keep your records current, your accounts reconciled, and your business in a position to make informed financial decisions at any time of year. We're trained in QuickBooks and Sage 50 and work in whichever your books already live in.
The monthly fee is fixed by volume: $129 for up to 50 transactions a month, $229 for 51 to 150. Higher-volume books are quoted individually.
- Categorization and coding of all transactions
- Bank and credit card reconciliations
- Accounts receivable and payable tracking
- Monthly reporting package
- Year-end ready file for tax preparation
If your books have fallen behind, whether by a few months or a few years, we bring them current quickly and accurately so you can file on time and understand where your business stands.
Catch-up is priced per month of books brought current, from $99, confirmed up front once we've seen the state of the records.
- Transaction review and reclassification
- Historical reconciliation across all accounts
- GST/HST input tax credit (ITC) recovery review
- Preparation of prior-period financial statements
- Handoff-ready file for your accountant or CRA
HST reporting and remittance requires accurate records and an understanding of what qualifies as an input tax credit. We prepare and file your HST returns and ensure you are remitting the correct amount on time. If you're not registered yet, our Self-Employed Tax Guide explains the $30,000 threshold and when registration stops being optional, and our Trades & Contractor Tax Guide covers the quoting trap that catches contractors mid-season.
- Quarterly or annual HST return preparation and filing
- Input tax credit (ITC) review and optimization
- Reconciliation of HST collected and paid
- CRA remittance calculation and deadline tracking
- Support for HST registration and account setup
Clear, accurate financial statements give you and your advisors a reliable picture of business performance. We prepare income statements, balance sheets, and custom reports that support decision-making and external requirements.
The monthly reporting package is included with monthly bookkeeping. Standalone statements, for a lender, a year-end, or another accountant, are quoted individually.
- Income statement (profit & loss) preparation
- Balance sheet preparation
- Cash flow summaries
- Year-end financial statements for corporate tax filing
- Comparative reporting across periods
Starting a business or switching software? We help you set up a chart of accounts, establish consistent procedures, and choose the right tools so your books are structured correctly from day one.
- Chart of accounts design and setup
- QuickBooks, Sage 50, or other software onboarding
- Process documentation and internal controls
- Training for business owners managing their own books
- Ongoing advisory as your business grows
Every price above is before tax. We add 13% HST to each invoice — GST/HST No. 751784000 RT0001. So $129 a month is $145.77 on the invoice, and $229 is $258.77. Volumes above the published bands are quoted before any work begins. The full price list across every service is on the pricing page.
Monthly bookkeeping runs month to month. Either of us can end it with 30 days' written notice, the month you're in is billed in full rather than pro-rated, and the fee is invoiced at the start of each month. When you leave you get a complete export of your file within 14 days — the books are yours, and we don't hold them to keep you.
If your transaction count runs over your band for two months in a row, we tell you before the rate changes and the new rate starts the month after that. We don't apply a band change to months already invoiced, and we don't move you up for one busy month. The fee calculator covers personal tax returns rather than monthly work, so for bookkeeping the quote comes from us directly, in writing, before anything begins.
