Terms of Use
Last updated: August 2026
1. About These Terms
Greywood Advisory is a personal and corporate tax preparation practice based in London, Ontario, Canada. These terms govern your use of this website. By using the site, you accept them.
These terms cover the website. They are not the terms of a professional engagement — those are set out in a written engagement letter, described in section 5.
2. The Guides Are General Information, Not Advice
Everything published here — the guides, the FAQ, the deadline lists, the articles on particular occupations and situations — is general information about Canadian tax. It is written carefully and reviewed, and the review date is stated on each guide. It is still general.
Tax outcomes turn on the specific facts of a specific year. A rule that applies cleanly to one person does not apply to their neighbour, and a figure that is correct for one tax year changes in the next. Nothing on this site is advice about your situation, and you should not act on it as though it were.
When we prepare your return, we go through each item against your own records. That is the point at which general information becomes advice, and it happens in an engagement, not on a web page.
3. The Calculators Produce Estimates
This site offers several calculators — a fee calculator, a personal tax estimator, an RRSP savings calculator, and an automobile benefit calculator. Each runs entirely in your browser: nothing you type into them is transmitted to us or to anyone else.
They are estimating tools. They use published CRA figures for the stated tax year and make simplifying assumptions in order to stay usable. They do not know your full circumstances, and their output is not a tax return, a filing position, or a quote we are bound by.
The fee calculator produces an indication of cost based on what you tell it. An actual fee is confirmed in writing before any work begins, and if what we find in your records differs from what the calculator was told, the confirmed fee is the one that governs.
4. Using This Site Does Not Make You a Client
No client relationship is created by reading this site, using a calculator, downloading a form, sending an enquiry through the contact form, or booking a consultation. A consultation is a conversation about whether we are the right fit, in both directions.
Until an engagement letter is signed, we are not acting for you, we are not responsible for your filing deadlines, and you should not rely on us having done so.
5. Engagements, Fees, and Scope
Work is done under a written engagement letter that sets out what we are doing, what it costs, and what falls outside it. The fee is agreed before the work starts.
Where the engagement letter and this website differ, the engagement letter governs. Prices shown on this site are current at the time of publication and may change; the price quoted to you in writing is the one that applies to your file.
Business advisory work is a plain read of your own numbers and the decisions in front of you. It is not a forecast, and it is not investment advice.
6. Information You Give Us
Where you submit information through this site — an enquiry, or an intake form you have filled in — you are responsible for its accuracy and for having the right to share it. We work from what you provide.
The intake form is filled in and turned into a PDF entirely within your browser, specifically so that identifiers such as a SIN and a date of birth are never transmitted through the website. Please follow the instructions on the Send Us Your Documents page rather than emailing sensitive documents unprompted.
How we handle personal information is set out in our Privacy Policy.
7. Availability
We aim to keep the site available and its content current, and we correct errors when we find them. We do not promise the site will be uninterrupted, or that every figure is up to date at the moment you read it — tax figures change, sometimes retroactively.
Where a rate or limit matters to a decision you are making, confirm it with us or against the CRA's own published material rather than relying on the version cached in your browser.
8. Links to Other Sites
We link to the Canada Revenue Agency and other external sources where it helps. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or availability. A link is not an endorsement.
9. Our Content and Brand
The text, guides, calculators, layout, logo, and name on this site belong to Greywood Advisory. You are welcome to read it, print it for your own use, and link to it. Republishing it as your own, or using our name or logo in a way that suggests we endorse or are affiliated with something, is not permitted without our written consent.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss arising from your reliance on the general information or estimates published on this website, as distinct from work performed for you under an engagement letter. Liability for engaged work is addressed in that letter.
Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including under Ontario consumer protection legislation.
11. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. The courts of Ontario have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from your use of this site.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects when they were last revised. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
